the princess saves herself in this one

the princess saves herself in this one - ladybookmad, Amanda Lovelace This isn't really a review, just me babbling about my love of this book. (I reviewed the first edition, though, and I stand by that: review on my blog.)

Is it possible to love a book too much? If it is, that's me with this book. I love it so, so much. It's inspiring, it's heartbreaking, it's powerful, it's beautiful, and I want to re-read it and re-read it and re-read it.

This poetry collection speaks to me and it helped me claw my way out of the dark place I was in when I just couldn't write anymore. I was trying so hard, but the words wouldn't come, or, if they did, it was a frustrating battle to find them. After I read this, I found the strength to push myself up off the ground, dust myself off, and start moving forward, and I finally found my voice again. I owe Amanda Lovelace, and this book, so much, and I'm eternally grateful for her bravery in publishing this.

This is my go-to poetry recommendation for people who aren't sure if they'll like poetry, and I'm basically trying to get everyone I know to read it.
